About the Trust
The present Trustees are:
- Mr Roger Dawe (Chairman)
- Mrs Margaret Evans
- Mr Michael Saunders
- Mrs Margaret Webb
- Mrs Catherine Houghton
- Mrs Sarah Gillingham
The Trustees meet quarterly in March, June, September and December. A Sub-Committee has been established to deal with day to day grant applications and this meets every 6-8 weeks and has delegated power to make grants of up to £5,000 each. The next Sub-Committee meeting will be held on 24th July 2013.
The Trust prefers to assist charities whose work benefits people living in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. It is unlikely that the Trust will support work in Bristol, Bath or other locations outside its preferred area unless a clear benefit to the SW region can be demonstrated in the application. The Trustees are particularly interested in supporting the following types of project: Homelessness, Employment, Skills & Training and Animal Charities, although work outside of these areas will also be considered. These will continue to be funding priorities until Trustees discuss the matter in June 2013. Please see the Policies page for further details.
Most grants are made for a specific project identified by the Trustees and are thus restricted to use for that purpose. The Trustees also like to be kept informed of the progress of the cause supported. Please see our application guidance for further information about the Trust’s reporting requirements.
If you would like to make an application, please use the Trust's application form, which is available from this web site. Please do not apply more than once during a financial year.
The Charity has its own funds endowed by the Norman Family. It does not undertake any fundraising activities and does not have any volunteer workers.
The Charity’s Statutory Accounts are filed with the Charity Commission and can be seen on their web site: www.charity-commission.gov.uk
